A London based recruitment company, approached us to design a 3-day leadership and management ‘bootcamp’ that simultaneously provided an opportunity to invest in well-being for the senior leadership team.  We thought it was a fantastic idea and were spoiled for choice when it came to choosing a venue.  North Wales is surrounded by stunning coastline and dramatic mountainous scenery. Anglesey is fast becoming a gastronomic centre with excellent local produce to enjoy.  The choice is great enough that we presented several options and our client settled on a rural farmhouse location, offering high quality accommodation for a team of 16.  We met at the London HQ to understand the companies aims behind offering the retreat.  They described a team who were delivering services to two large clients, with significant overlap. Stress and exhaustion were high, with a growing concern around a lack of opportunity to press the pause button, reflect, and make sure they were delivering to a high standard.  We went away and designed a 3-day itinerary that focussed on the following:

  • Shifting from mindless to mindful
  • Goal setting and effective communication
  • Tools to increase focus and reduce tension
  • How multi-tasking can reduce productivity
  • Stress busting action
  • Building mindful relationships in work
  • Reflection and action planning

The combined effect of changing the environment, visiting the outdoors and Anglesey’s hidden gems, incredible food and investing time in themselves, resulted in a renewed vigour, a fresh focus and a jointly created development plan to return to London with.
